Strengthen the focus of your students, classroom, and kids at home with Focus Monitored! Focus Monitored utilizes random, unexpected alerts to help keep your students engaged and focused. Set the amount of times you want Focus Monitored to sound and the time period in which you want Focus Monitored to alert. For example, if you specify 20 minutes as the time duration and set 4 as the number of times Focus Monitored will signal, Focus Monitored will alarm at 4 unexpected and random times within 20 minutes. Focus Monitored uses positive tones to alert you and your students to monitor who was meeting task demands at the random time Focus Monitored sounded. Students could be rewarded, praised, or acknowledged for meeting task requirements or feedback could be given to explain what the students need to do to meet expectations.

Focus Monitored can be used by teachers in classrooms or your kids at home. For example, the attention of a classroom of 4th graders during a silent reading task can be monitored at random, unexpected times. Students who are reading silently could be acknowledged, praised, and rewarded while students who are talking quietly would be redirected to their reading. Your kids at home could be rewarded with extra time on the iPad for being focused on homework when Focus Monitored sounds.
Focus Monitored utilizes variable interval reinforcement by alerting you to reward your students, classroom or kids at home at varying amounts of time. The unexpectedness of variable interval reinforcement is what makes Focus Monitored an effective tool in helping provide your students extra encouragement. Variable interval reinforcement is a researched based principle of learning theory and Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA). Focus Monitored can be used with your existing ABA, Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) or Self-Monitoring program you are using or as a stand-alone intervention.
